Susan Withers Claunch, BA. discovered signing with infants in 1997 and began signing with her first child in 2001. She founded Tiny Talk in Austin Texas in 2003.

In addition to publishing local articles, she has been a presenter on the value of infant and toddler sign language to many professional childhood education groups including: the Texas Association for Family Child Care, The Austin Association for the Education of Young Children, The Children's Hospital of Austin, and the annual statewide conference for the Texas Library Association.
